McGregor and Poirier agree to fight in charity event in Dublin

The MMA fighters have both agreed to the event.

It looks like Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier both want to go head-to-head for in a martial arts sparring match in December.

The pair have been going back and forth on twitter and now it looks like December 12 will be the official date for the charity event in Dublin.

"December 12th in the Point depot, Ireland. No weigh ins. Open weight, unified rules," McGregor says on Twitter.

"I will arrange all travel fare for you and family. McGregor Sports and Entertainment MMA, in association with The Good Fight Foundation. Charity Mixed Martial Arts!"

Poirier responded says he's in.

"I'm in! Lets do it! A lot of people will benefit from this @TheGoodFightFDN."

The event is expected to be free to air spar, with all donations welcome.

How the two men will negotiate this with the UFC is unclear, as both are still under exclusive contract at this point.

However, given McGregor's close relationship with UFC President Dana White and his penchant for making unlikely fights happen, anything is possible.
