Fighters are preparing to test their skills at an inaugural Turf Wars event this weekend.
Turf Wars will be presenting the Apex Muay Thai Warrior Series, an event being described as the first of its kind in NZ.
Saturday night will see a range of fighters step into the ring and scale their way to the top.
The event will feature eight of Aotearoa's best 64kg Muay Thai combatants, who will meet in four exciting full Thai rules bouts.
The winners will receive $2000 in prize money.
The next step in the ascent takes place in March, when the four semi-finalists do battle again, this time for $3000 and chance to move into the grand final in June.
The winner of that match will be crowned the Apex Muay Thai Warrior.
