Fans of UFC champion Israel Adesanya will have a rare opportunity to see him being interviewed live as part of a Whanganui charity event.

Adesanya will take to the stage at the Prince Edward Audatorium as he is interviewed by Mike Angove on May 1.

This charity event is in support of the new Regional Children’s Hospital which is now being constructed in Wellington.

Adesanya needs little introduction to the Whanganui community, having commenced his career here in Whanganui and being Whanganui Sportsperson of the Year in 2020 and Halberg Sportsperson of the Year in 2019.

Mike Angove is one of his four coaches and is well known as a National combat sports analyst and commentator and is a former world champion kick boxer. He is one of the City Kick Boxing Gymnasium team in Auckland.

The interview will cover Israel's journey through the sport and what he hopes to achieve.

Both these men have in depth knowledge of the UFC fight game so it promises to be an entertaining and informative evening and a unique opportunity to see and hear Israel and Mike together.

"The Rotary Club of Whanganui  North has organised this charity event in support of the fit out of the new Regional Children’s Hospital, which is now being constructed in Wellington and is due to open early next year. There will be a brief outline of the project as part of the evening," says event organisers.
